Reflecting on your wins, when life feels like it's spinning
It's finally time to show you "the prison" before and after demolition
Phew, well when I said things were likely going to get worse last week I didn’t anticipate just how quickly… but here we are.
I’ve been journaling everyday, first thing in the morning, and when I really feel helpless, getting out my jumbled up thoughts on paper is sometimes the only thing that helps (The Artist’s Way calls them the Morning Pages).
But one other thing I’ve been returning back to is my camera roll. Specifically to look at videos from our demolition… remember how afraid I said I was? I mean we were demolishing THIS…
But guess what?! It turns out, those fears were unwarranted. Not only did we complete it successfully without a boulder rolling down the hill and taking out my neighbor’s house (this was my biggest irrational fear LOL) but we hired an excellent team that completed the work in 25% of the estimated time and kept all of our trees intact. PHENOMENAL!
It turns out, being a smart and capable employee for someone else is also a sign that you’re a smart and capable person in general. Get out of your own way!

And guess what, look at where things are now?? We have a beautiful blank canvas and I feel so vindicated. I remember when Chad and I saw that place for the first time and I kept saying to him, “am I crazy? Or do you see what I see?” but now the potential is crystal clear. You have to learn to trust yourself.

There’s something really important about reflecting on your own power. It’s been really helpful for me to sit with my fears but then actually reflect when I see these tangible outcomes after I’ve pushed past those fears. We all have these moments in life, and while yours may not be as stark as this, I encourage you to pull out a piece of paper and do some journaling of your own.
Recall a time in your recent past when you were really nervous or even afraid to move forward. How did things turn out? What would it look like if you tapped back into that courage now? I bet it will give you a little boost to get through this week too! (that and limiting your time on Instagram SMH)
Wherever you are, I hope you can spend some time basking in the sun this week.
Remember your power. One Love 💕🌞
Ahhhh!
